# Alienesque Plant Sculptures Audrii Muscipula by Tim Price Looks Like a Venus Flytrap By Meghan Young | Published 2013-01-04 | Unique Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/audrii-muscipula References: [neatorama](http://www.neatorama.com/2012/12/31/Little-Shop-of-Horrors-Skeleton-by-Tim-Price/) & [forgottenboneyard.tumblr](http://forgottenboneyard.tumblr.com/) Like an alien version of the infamous Venus Flytrap, the Audrii muscipula sculpture rises from a humble terracotta pot with a thin stem and gaping jaw. Unlike the carnivorous plant, this terrifying work of art is far from lush and lively. Instead, the [bone white creature](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/shiyuan-xu) takes after the Xenomorph from the cult classic movie 'Alien.' Audrii muscipula might forego the aliens' classic dark exterior, but it does boast the disturbing head-within-head feature. Created by Tim Prince of Forgotten Boneyard, the Audrii muscipula sculpture is crafted out of real animal skeletons. The stem is a Mink vertebrae while the 'bloom' has been fashioned out of box turtle shells, skunk skull, coyote teeth and raccoon mandibles. A perfect decor for [Halloween](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bouqs-spooky-collection), Audrii muscipula is masterfully unique and creepy. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.4/10 - Popularity: 14% | Activity: 20% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 70% men, 30% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Unique](https://www.trendhunter.com/unique) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Alien-inspired Sculptures:** There is a disruptive innovation opportunity in creating sculptures inspired by extraterrestrial life forms. - **Creepy Animal Skeleton Art:** A disruptive innovation opportunity exists in the creation of artwork using real animal skeletons. - **Terrifying Halloween Decor:** There is a disruptive innovation opportunity in designing Halloween decorations that are both creepy and unique. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Art and Sculpture:** The art and sculpture industry can explore the disruptive innovation opportunities presented by creating alien-inspired sculptures and creepy animal skeleton art. - **Home Decor:** The home decor industry can tap into the disruptive innovation opportunity of designing terrifying Halloween decorations that stand out. - **Holiday and Seasonal Products:** The holiday and seasonal products industry can benefit from the disruptive innovation opportunity of offering unique and creepy decorations for Halloween. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Anamorphic Fuzzy Glowing Vessels](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/alien-vases.md) - [DIY Carnivorous Plant Kits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/grow-your-own-venus-fly-trap.md) - [Insect-Inspired Bronze Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/insect-bronze-sculptures.md) - [Otherworldly Wooden Art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wooden-sculptures-1.md) - [Sculptural Biomaterial Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wevolve-labs.md) - [Plant-Powered MIDI Sound Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/love-hultn-tegel.md) - [Insect-Like Seating Solutions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-mantis-chair.md) - [Stone Floral Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lithic-bloom.md) - [Creature-Like Floor Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-pink-robots-won.md)
