# Art Gallery Turntables Audio-Technica Turntable Concept Treats Vinyl Playback as Art Display By Amy Duong | Published 2026-02-23 | Tech Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/audiotechnica-turntable References: [instagram](https://www.instagram.com/hive_industrialdesign/?e=347e6827-3cb6-4276-9c05-e2d72457947d&g=5) The Audio-Technica turntable concept reframes the record player as a display object rather than a purely functional audio component. Developed as a design study, the concept explores how vinyl playback could exist as part of an interior environment, with three formats that include a tabletop version, a wall-mounted configuration, and a vertical model that presents the record face-on like framed artwork. Each format emphasizes the visibility of the disc and mechanism, shifting attention toward the physical ritual of playing records. The design language is defined by rigid geometry and a T-shaped structural spine, avoiding retro references or ornamental detailing. Materials and finishes are presented in muted, architectural tones such as terracotta, green, grey, and silver. Controls are limited to essential functions, including speed selection and playback toggles, while integrated speakers and branding are kept visually restrained. The [wall-mounted version uses a translucent panel](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/transparent-vinyl-player) to partially conceal internal components while allowing the spinning record to remain the focal point.
