# Beach Bag Boomboxes The Audio Wrap Makes it Easy to Bump Your Tunes at the Beach By Michael Hines | Published 2011-12-27 | Tech Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/audio-wrap References: [industrialdesignserved](http://www.industrialdesignserved.com/gallery/ITRI-Flexible-Speaker-Application-The-Audio-Wrap/1680470) & [behance.net](http://www.behance.net/jules-parmentier) The Audio Wrap is a flexible speaker system from ITRI (Industrial Technology Research Institute of Taiwan) that also doubles as a beach bag. The speakers on the Audio Wrap can be tough to spot at first, but a keen eye will be able to note the perforations in the fabric. The bag's strap functions as the iDevice docking cord, an ingenious design to say the least. Integrating a mobile speaker system into a shoulder bag is a brilliant idea to say the least. It seems like everyone takes their iPod with them wherever they go, but lugging around a speaker dock is out of the question. Creating a multifunctional dock that is also highly portable is a smart move. Here's hoping that a unisex version of the Audio Wrap is in development. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.4/10 - Popularity: 37% | Activity: 56% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 30% men, 70% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, South America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/tech) > [Gadgets](https://www.trendhunter.com/gadgets) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Multifunctional Mobile Speakers:** The trend towards integrating mobile speaker systems into everyday items like bags and clothing presents an opportunity for disruptive innovation in the audio and fashion industries. - **Discreet Audio Design:** The use of perforated fabric to hide speakers in plain sight is a trend that could offer disruptive innovation opportunities in the home and office audio industries. - **Mobile Device Docking Integration:** The use of the bag's strap as an iDevice docking cord is a trend that could offer disruptive innovation opportunities in the mobile accessories industry. ### Who This Affects Most - **Audio:** The trend towards multifunctional mobile speakers and discreet audio design present opportunities for disruptive innovation in the audio industry. - **Fashion:** The trend towards integrating mobile speaker systems into accessories like bags and clothing presents opportunities for disruptive innovation in the fashion industry. - **Mobile Accessories:** The trend towards integrating mobile device docking into everyday items presents an opportunity for disruptive innovation in the mobile accessories industry. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Technologically Enhanced Electronic Handbags](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/electronic-handbags.md) - [Wearable High-Quality Speakers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fender-x-teufel.md) - [Future-Proof Luxurious Portable Speakers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/beosound-a5-portable-speaker.md) - [Phone Charger-Infused Speakers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/phone-chargerinfused-speaker.md) - [Beach-Ready Bluetooth Speakers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bluetooth-speaker-1.md) - [Sustainable Solar-Powered Speakers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/solgaard-solarbank-boombox.md) - [Fashion-Forward Audio Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/luna-audio.md) - [Vibrating Wearable Speakers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/xiaomi-wearable-speaker.md) - [Basket-Resembling Premium Speakers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/beosound-a5.md)
