Weinbroom's [handcrafted lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/see-earth) comprise four different styles, all of which provide an interesting play on the combination of material and mechanism. For example, the 'Giben' lamp is designed with a flat middle stick, which features an axe and wooden disk on each end, allowing the lamp to be adjusted in different directions. In contrast, the 'Corian Bra' lamp is designed with [copper arms and a clamp](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/leda) that can be attached to a work surface. According to Asaf Weinbroom, his series tests and experiments with "technologies, mechanisms and surprising combinations between wood and various materials." ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.3/10 - Popularity: 48% | Activity: 44% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Whimsical Desk Lamps:** Creating desk lamps with unique and surprising combinations of materials opens up the opportunity for playful and charming designs. - **Handcrafted Lighting:** With the rise of artisanal and unique products, handcrafted lighting fixtures offer a opportunity for differentiation for small businesses. - **Adjustable Desk Lamps:** Designing lamps with adjustable mechanisms for directional lighting gives consumers more control over their lighting setup. ### Where This Applies - **Interior Design:** Designers can incorporate unique desk lamps like these into their projects to create a whimsical and playful feel in any space. - **Lighting Manufacturing:** By creating handmade lighting fixtures with interesting combinations of materials, manufacturers can cater to consumers looking for unique and artisanal products. - **Office Supplies:** Businesses could benefit from offering adjustable desk lamps as a way for their employees to customize their workspaces and improve their productivity. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Hanging Lantern-Like Table Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/woodo-table-lamp.md) - [Space-Saving Desk Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/spacesaving-desk-lamp.md) - [Sculptural Wooden Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/arc-lamp.md) - [Colorful Geometric Desk Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/spot-on-desk.md) - [Wooden Sustainable Table Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/woodo.md) - [Bamboo-Inspired Table Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/modular-desk-lamp.md) - [Serene Wooden Dynamic Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sleepy-wood.md) - [Demure Designer Desk Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/designer-desk-lamp.md) - [Pencil Shaving-Inspired Illuminators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sharpener-lampshades.md)
