# Dish-Balancing Lighting The Artu Lamp by Carlo Tamborini Looks Like Part of a Circus Act By Meghan Young | Published 2011-04-08 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/artu-lamp References: [contemporist](http://www.contemporist.com/2011/04/06/artu-lamps-by-carlo-tamborini-for-modoluce/) & [carlotamborini.it](http://www.carlotamborini.it/) To me, the Artu Lamp looks like it belongs in a circus or street performer act. It looks as though someone left a dish balancing act midway through his or her performance, and the dishes magically stayed in place -- and emitted lights. This magician (a.k.a. designer) goes by the name of Carlo Tamborini. Designed for ModoLuce, the Artu Lamp is available in a slew of colors, including white, black, periwinkle blue and sandy. It also comes in various versions such as a table lamp, floor lamp or [pendent lamp](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kala-lamp) option. Although it features a rather [minimalist design](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/horizon-table-light), the Artu Lamp is nevertheless [fun and playful](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/little-lebow-table-lamp). Its zigzag form would create an interesting focal point in any room. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.2/10 - Popularity: 37% | Activity: 22% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 30% men, 70% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Minimalist Lighting:** Opportunity for creating lighting designs that are simplistic yet visually striking. - **Colorful Lighting:** Incorporate a wide range of colors into lighting designs to add a playful and vibrant touch. - **Versatile Lighting:** Design lighting options that can be used as table lamps, floor lamps, or pendant lamps for added flexibility. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Interior Design:** Innovative lighting designs can be integrated into interior design projects to create unique and captivating spaces. - **Home Decor:** Offering colorful and versatile lighting options can enhance the appeal of home decor products and increase customer engagement. - **Event Planning:** Integrating minimalist and playful lighting designs into events can create visually stunning environments and memorable experiences. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Artistic Magnetic Lamp Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/scacco-matto-lamp.md) - [Sculptural Wooden Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/arc-lamp.md) - [3D-Printed Mood Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/orbyt.md) - [Suspended Halo Light Fixtures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lamplox-minimalist-floor-lamp.md) - [Playful Table Lamp Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/toto-lamp.md) - [Ecological Dual Lampshade Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/air-light.md) - [Archetypal Conical Light Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fragile-lamp.md) - [Scenic Architecture Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/architecture-inspired-table-lamp.md) - [Award-Winning Colorful Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/u-table-lamp.md)
