The [Artist-in-Residence program](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hotel-belmar-costa-rica) is a new initiative from T.A New York's Owner and Buyer, Telsha Anderson. The goal of this program is to spotlight a different [Black artist](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/derrick-adams) every season, providing some much needed representation in the fashion world. The pieces will be on display at the [highly popular boutique](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/base-store).

The first show is titled Indispensable: Drawings by Nikki Terry, and showcases work from the artist which centres around her experiences as a Black woman. According to the artist herself, "I want young children of color to see two Black women who have different ways of creating art: you can own a beautiful store in a trendy neighborhood in New York City’s Meatpacking District and you can also be an artist exhibiting your work in the same space."
