The company puts to use its understanding of [vernacular architecture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/gallery-house), ensuring that the framework, layout and design decisions match the locational predisposition and the availability of materials. Fiedler Marciano Architectures create a "dynamic sense of interaction" through the geometrically expressive shape of the building. The duo of artist studio sheds takes cues from traditional and regional designs, while at the same time introducing a contemporary vibe to the structures. The location of the artist-in-residence program is chosen so that the creatives can get a secluded and distraction-free space to complete their work. The placement of the artist studio sheds also harmonizes participants in the program with the natural environment and allow for a connection with local residents.
