The installation featured an enormous, light-up [crescent moon](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-phase-lamp) that was suspended in the night sky using a crane. The 'Moon' art installation creatively juxtaposed artificiality with nature by suspending a man-made moon alongside the [urban landscape](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/surreal-street-art-1) of Lausanne at night. The installation centers around a plastic, man-made white moon shaped like a crescent that is roughly four stories high. Inside the plastic moon are several white LED lights that replicate the moon's luminous glow in the night sky. The 'Moon' is suspended from an industrial crane and left hanging in the urban sky throughout the night time to create a dazzling work of art. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.4/10 - Popularity: 49% | Activity: 44% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Light-up Installations:** Opportunity to create large-scale, captivating light-up installations that blend artificiality with the natural environment. - **Urban Art:** Disruptive innovation opportunity to bring artistic expression into urban landscapes through large-scale installations. - **Interactive Public Art:** Potential to engage and captivate audiences with interactive public art installations that create a sense of wonder and awe. ### Where This Applies - **Art and Design:** Innovative artists and designers can explore new ways to integrate their creations into public spaces and urban environments. - **Event Planning:** Event planners can incorporate large-scale light-up installations to create memorable experiences and awe-inspiring setups. - **Tourism:** Tourist destinations and attractions can use interactive public art installations as a draw for visitors, creating unique and immersive experiences. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Outdoor Light-Up Globes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/moongarden.md) - [Luminous Park Domes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/osmanthus-moon.md) - [Suspended Lighting Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/suspended-lighting-installation.md) - [Lunar-Based Rotating Pavilions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/moon-pavilion.md) - [Moon-Inspired Lighting Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lua.md) - [Spaced-Themed LED Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/moon-room.md) - [First-Ever Outer Space Artworks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/selenian.md) - [Sculptural Lunar Lighting Solutions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/moonsetter-floor-lamp.md) - [Moon-Inspired Column Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/column-lights.md)
