To put things into scale, the venue is the largest circular-shaped gas holder in the whole of Europe. The artist’s huge, white, [billowing creation](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/curly-cube) stands at 90 meters tall, with a width of 50 meters. Visitors to the site of the awe-inspiring artwork were wowed by its vastness and were invited to [walk inside the sculpture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/intermittent-dome). Some lay on the ground and looked upwards at the never-ending white dome that surrounded them. This is a ground-breaking feat for an artist to conceive and achieve. Christo states on the project site that “when experienced from the inside, that space is almost like a 90-meter-high cathedral.” ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.6/10 - Popularity: 73% | Activity: 56% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Large-scale Inflatable Structures:** The creation of the world's largest free-standing inflatable sculpture demonstrates the potential for large-scale inflatable structures in art and architecture. - **Immersive Art Experiences:** The invitation for visitors to walk inside the sculpture highlights the growing trend of immersive art experiences, opening up new possibilities for artists and galleries. - **Transforming Industrial Spaces:** The utilization of a gas holder as the venue for the sculpture showcases the trend of repurposing industrial spaces for artistic and cultural purposes, presenting opportunities for urban revitalization. ### Where This Applies - **Art and Sculpture:** The creation of record-breaking balloon sculptures fosters innovation and pushes boundaries within the art and sculpture industry. - **Architecture and Design:** The use of large-scale inflatable structures opens up new possibilities for architects and designers to create unique and visually striking buildings and installations. - **Cultural Tourism and Event Management:** The installation of impressive sculptures in industrial spaces creates opportunities for cultural tourism and event management industries to attract visitors and host immersive art experiences. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Interactive Kinetic Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/interactive-kinetic-sculptures.md) - [Artful Garden Inflatable Spheres](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/this-is-air.md) - [Spiky Inflatable Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/inflatable-sculptures1.md) - [Giant Custom Inflatables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/giant-inflatables.md) - [Inflatable-Orb Stage Set Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/whomadewho.md) - [Colorfully Inflatable Art Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/blowup-art-the-hague.md) - [Iconic Bag-Inspired Art Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/big-birk.md) - [Monumental Air Installation](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/iwagumi-air-scape.md) - [Inflatable Vibrant Art Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/forest-dancer.md)
