Meijer was inspired by the need for a lighting system that is capable of satisfying the multifaceted role of different shades of lighting. By providing bright white lights for efficient work and concentration, a warmer lighting hue will help the user relax before bed by inducing slumber. Arnout Meijer presented this project at the IMM Cologne Trade Fair as part of the [D3] Design Talents Exhibition. According to Meijer, he wanted to "let light play the main character. So [he] wanted to make a lamp series where the design and the shape was about the light." ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.0/10 - Popularity: 75% | Activity: 38% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Color-changing Lamps:** Expanding on traditional lighting design, color-changing lamps offer customizable lighting experiences for different moods and activities. - **Adaptive Lighting:** Designers are incorporating technology to create lighting systems that can adapt to different needs, from efficient work lighting to relaxing ambiance. - **Design and Technology Integration:** The integration of design and technology opens up new possibilities for innovative lighting solutions that prioritize both functionality and aesthetics. ### Who This Affects Most - **Home Lighting:** Color-changing lamps have the potential to revolutionize the home lighting industry by providing customizable lighting solutions for various rooms and occasions. - **Wellness:** The wellness industry can benefit from adaptive lighting technology, as it can be used to create calming and soothing environments for relaxation and sleep. - **Interior Design:** Interior designers can incorporate color-changing lamps as part of their design concepts, allowing for dynamic and versatile lighting options that enhance the overall ambiance of spaces. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Emotional Light Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/miror-collection.md) - [Biodynamic Workstation Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/daylight-rhythm-task-light.md) - [Stress Reduction Table Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sunnest-table-lamp.md) - [Shape-Shifting Modular Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/moodi.md) - [Solar System-Inspired Lighting Series](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cosmooval.md) - [Minimal Wake-Aware Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wake-sleep-light.md) - [Interactive Blooming Floor Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bloomlight-s-lamp.md) - [Custom Scent-Altering Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/moodmist.md) - [Sci-Fi-Inspired Dynamic Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/spacetime-transformation-lamp.md)
