# Stealth Plane-Inspired Seating The Armchair by Svyatoslav Boyarincev is Modeled After the F-117 By Meghan Young | Published 2013-02-21 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/armchair-by-svyatoslav-boyarincev References: [behance.net](http://www.behance.net/gallery/Armchair/4989185) The Armchair by Svyatoslav Boyarincev, a furniture designer based in Saint Petersburg, Russia, was inspired by the Lockheed [F-117 Nighthawk](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/f117-4wd-covenant) [stealth aircraft](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/stay-under-the-radar-retreat). Although it might not have the sophisticated equipment that the [United States Air Force](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/summer-sunset) outfitted the military plane with, the seat is nevertheless still very impressive to look at. The clean lines and faceted details of the F-117 informs the overall form of this seat. The sides even look as though they are folded down wings of the original F-117. Of course, the Armchair by Svyatoslav Boyarincev is made out of plastic with a metal frame. The softer elements are fashioned from plywood, covered with synthetic padding and upholstered with leather. Sleek and contemporary, it is perfect for pristine modern homes with a masculine energy. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.6/10 - Popularity: 79% | Activity: 51% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 90% men, 10% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Stealth Plane-inspired Seating:** Opportunity for furniture designers to create innovative and futuristic seating designs that draw inspiration from stealth aircraft. ### Who This Affects Most - **Furniture Design:** Potential for furniture designers to incorporate aerospace-inspired elements into their designs, creating unique and cutting-edge products. - **Aerospace:** Possibility for aerospace companies to collaborate with furniture designers to develop functional and aesthetically pleasing seating solutions inspired by stealth aircraft. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Mid-Century Sculpted Lounge Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/plane-lounge-chair.md) - [Otherworldly Themed Rocking Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ufo-rocking.md) - [Intergalactic Gamer Chair Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/starfield-x-tempur-dream-chair.md) - [Ergonomic Butterfly-Inspired Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wings-chair.md) - [Sneaker-Inspired Chair Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/markvonrama.md) - [Illusory Disconnected Component Armchairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fly-armchair.md) - [Scorpion-Like Gaming Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sk-scorpion.md) - [Luxury Automotive Brand Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/aston-martin-v244-lounge-chair.md) - [High-End Headphones-Inspired Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/minimalist-chair-design.md)
