# Futuristic Decked-Out Houseboats The Scenic ARKKI Boat from Janne LeppäNen By Michael Hines | Published 2010-05-05 | Autos Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/arkki-boat References: [tuvie](http://www.tuvie.com/arkki-boat-combines-an-habitable-floating-home-with-maximum-luxury/) & [janneleppanen.daportfolio](http://janneleppanen.daportfolio.com/) I hope I'm on the ARKKI Boat when the whole world ends up underwater. This design from Janne Leppänen is perfect for someone like me who wouldn't mind [living on a boat](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/floating-river-cabin) -- provided that it has a large front porch. The front porch on the ARKKI Boat is actually constructed of [solar panels](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dianai-solar-sailer), which charge the boat's electrical engine. A solar-powered boat with a front porch is something I can certainly dig. I look forward to the coming of the water world. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 6.2/10 - Popularity: 85% | Activity: 92% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Autos](https://www.trendhunter.com/autos) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Solar-powered Houseboats:** The construction of solar panels as boat components creates a new market for eco-friendly houseboats. - **Futuristic Boat Design:** Innovative and deluxe choices to boat interiors, like the ARKKI Boat, create a new market segment for high-end floating homes. - **Floating Residences:** The ARKKI Boat design is part of a new trend that is transforming boats into liveable spaces and creating a new market for floating homes. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Boating Industry:** The boating industry could expand by catering to customers who are looking for eco-friendly, luxurious, and futuristic boats like the ARKKI Boat. - **Real Estate Industry:** The ARKKI Boat is part of a new market segment for floating residences that bridges boating and real estate industries, opening up more opportunities for innovation and collaboration. - **Renewable Energy Industry:** The integration of solar panels into boat design could disrupt the renewable energy industry by creating a new market for mobile solar-powered homes. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Solar-Powered Compact Houseboats](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fng-sng.md) - [Solar Panel-Covered Boat Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ms-porrima-concept-boat.md) - [Sleek Compact Floating Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/blatto-boat.md) - [Modern Floating Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pura-vida-floating-home.md) - [Two-Storey Contemporary Houseboats](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/garde-hvalse.md) - [Flax Fiber Floating Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/blue-nomad.md) - [Recycled Plastic Floating Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mast.md) - [Convertible Exploration Boats](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rand-roamer-29-boat.md) - [Opulent Eco-Friendly Yacht Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/oneiric-yacht.md)
