# Superheroic Splatter Portraits Arian Noveir Turns Smeared Paint Into Marvel and DC Characters By Jason Soy | Published 2011-11-09 | Pop Culture Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/arian-noveir References: [ufunk.net](http://www.ufunk.net/en/artistes/super-heroes-painted-les-peintures-de-arian-noveir/) & [behance.net](http://www.behance.net/gallery/Super-Heroes-Painted/1579443) If less is in fact actually more, then these Arian Noveir 'Super Heroes: Painted' illustrations are the most bountiful depictions of [Marvel](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-heroes) and [DC](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/jim-lee-batman) characters ever produced. Taking an extremely minimalist approach, Noveir adds and subtracts only crucial splashes of paint onto paper in order to form the [iconic apparel and silhouettes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-dark-knight-collection) of comicdom's favorite caped crusaders. I want to emphasize the level of difficulty in making these mesmerizing works as Noveir doesn't allow himself the crutch of details in order to form each subject. The most extreme example of this is in the Superman illustration, in which seemingly very little digital alteration is used in order to sculpt out the Man of Steel's attributes. Among the many heroes featured in this Arian Noveir collection of purchasable prints are Wonder Woman, Iron Man, Batman, Wolverine, Spider-man, Hellboy, Hulk, Thor and, as previously mentioned, Superman. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.2/10 - Popularity: 83% | Activity: 65% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 90% men, 10% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Pop Culture](https://www.trendhunter.com/popculture) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Minimalist Art:** Exploring the use of minimalistic techniques to create visually stunning artworks. - **Splatter Painting:** Utilizing splashes of paint to form recognizable figures and designs. - **Superhero Art:** Showcasing popular superhero characters through artistic interpretations. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Art and Design:** Opportunity for artists to experiment with minimalistic techniques and innovative painting methods. - **Printmaking and Merchandise:** Creating limited edition prints and merchandise featuring superhero-inspired artwork. - **Comic and Entertainment:** Incorporating unique art styles to attract and engage audiences in the superhero genre. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Superhero-Themed DIY Art Kits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/jim-lee-batman.md) - [Comic-Inspired Soda Cans](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-heroes.md) - [Washable Superhero Rugs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/superhero-rugs.md) - [Dark Superhero Apparel](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/batman-x-blvck-collection.md) - [Comic-Themed Tech Accessories](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/super-heroes-vs-villains.md) - [Comic Book Hero Collectibles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/comic-book-heros.md) - [3D Superhero Block-Puzzle Sets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/amazing-spiderman-set.md) - [AI-Generated Motorbike Helmets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/coldstar-art.md) - [Villain-Themed Shoe Capsules](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kith-for-asics.md)
