Indeed, the Archetype Sofa does seem to embody a certain sense of structural stiffness, but its sharply cut cushions are apparently quite comfortable. In observing this [angular Alfredo da Silva creation](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/john-pawson), one is left with the utmost appreciation for its clean lines, careful fabrication and the chic formal effect of its [contemporary geometric character](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hybla-seating-system). And where it is often the coolest looking furnishings that fall the furthest short in terms of ergonomics, it would be a pleasure to discover the experience of sitting upon such a chesterfield. Fitting for any [bold modern or minimally designed interiors](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/biboni-sofa), the Archetype Sofa may not assume the common aesthetic standard, but it lives up to its name in matters of composition, quality and practicality. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.1/10 - Popularity: 48% | Activity: 7% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Angular Furniture:** Designers can explore opportunities in creating stylish and comfortable angular furnishings. - **Structurally Soft Designs:** There is potential for designers to create more furniture that merges structural form with softness and comfort. - **Geometric Minimalism:** The trend of minimalism can be further explored by incorporating geometric shapes in furniture design. ### Where This Applies - **Furniture:** The furniture industry can take inspiration from the Archetype Sofa and offer furniture with a mix of structural form and comfort. - **Interior Design:** Interior designers can work with clients to create spaces that incorporate angular furniture without being too rigid or uncomfortable. - **Architectural Design:** Architects can experiment with integrating geometric shapes and structural designs in building interiors and furniture. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Organically Shaped Sofas](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/repose-sofa.md) - [Flexible Landscape-Like Sofas](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/airberg-sofa-collection.md) - [Ribbed-Cushioned Couches](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/note-design.md) - [Oblong Color-Blocked Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/meritalia-morphologica-collection.md) - [Laidback Modular Sofa Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/natuzzi-bao.md) - [Plush Sculptural Lounge Sofas](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rokko.md) - [Voluptuous Texture Sofa Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bretz-balaao.md) - [High-Back Embracing Sofas](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cozmo-hug.md) - [Ultra-Comfy Seating Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cushy-lounge-chair.md)
