If a tsunami or a major flood were threatening a community, you'd want to make sure you have a seat reserved in one of these. The buoyant refuges seal tight and accommodate up to seven people, keeping them safe from harm for up to two weeks. The broad and shallow cabin that Picomdesign came up with ensures that the vessel will not capsize. Its roof should always remain on top, leaving a set of solar panels pointed directly towards the sky. This sustainable energy generation provides power for the occupants of the lifeboat and even enables the use of a motor. The Archelon Emergency Capsule is complete with chairs, a private toilet, food rations, water, a navigation system and the ability to be linked up with others. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 6.9/10 - Popularity: 99% | Activity: 100% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Gen Alpha, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Autos](https://www.trendhunter.com/autos) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Mobile Bunkers for Disaster Relief:** The Archelon Emergency Capsule combines buoyancy, sustainability, and safety features. - **Sustainable Energy for Emergency Shelters:** The solar panels on the Archelon Emergency Capsule enable mobility while ensuring self-sufficiency in energy. - **Seamless Navigation Systems for Emergency Vehicles:** The navigation system on the Archelon Emergency Capsule can be linked with others, making it easier to navigate and ultimately save more lives. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Emergency Management:** The Archelon Emergency Capsule provides an innovative option for emergency responders to transport victims safely during disasters. - **Renewable Energy:** The solar panel system on the Archelon Emergency Capsule can be a model for other companies to develop sustainable energy solutions for emergency shelters. - **Home Security and Safety:** The safety and security features of the Archelon Emergency Capsule can inspire home security companies to develop innovative products for protecting people during natural disasters. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Origami-Inspired Disaster Relief Pods](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/prefab-folding-pods.md) - [Climate-Responsive Prefab Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/drop-pod.md) - [Flatpack Oceanic Lifeboats](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fold-and-rescue-lifeboat.md) - [Semi-Amphibious Bus Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/estuary-hopper.md) - [Underground Autonomous Shelter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/plan-b-1.md) - [Elevated Flood Refuge Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lift-house.md) - [Pop-Up Emergency Shelters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/terra-nova-bothy-bag.md) - [Recycled Plastic Floating Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mast.md) - [Flood-Proof Raft-Inspired Sofas](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bliss-sofa.md)
