# Modular Office Arbors The Arche Provides a Semi-Enclosed Niche for Intimacy in an Open-Plan Space By Amelia Roblin | Published 2013-12-05 | Eco Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/arche References: [archidesignclub](http://www.archidesignclub.com/magazine/rubriques/design/45527-iwoodlove-l’arche.html) & [iwoodlove](http://www.iwoodlove.com/en/) Many people argue than an open plan office environment is a healthier one; however, there are benefits to having certain business activities occur in relative privacy. The Arche was designed by iwoodlove as a means to section off small areas for this purpose. The three-sided vault is a timber-built module that's actually quite narrow in profile. One unit is broad enough to embrace a single desk or a pair of chairs, creating an [acoustically dampened alcove](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/harp-system) for private discussions or more focused work assignments. Several of these can be arranged in a row to establish [larger cubicles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ma-camilla-isabel-reyes) that might even encompass boardroom tables. Another model of the iwoodlove Arche has two sides that can partition areas against the wall. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.7/10 - Popularity: 84% | Activity: 80% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Eco](https://www.trendhunter.com/eco) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Modular Office Design:** Create flexible office spaces with modular modules that allow for privacy and focused work assignments. - **Acoustically Dampened Environments:** Utilize soundproofing materials and design elements to create quiet and private spaces within open office plans. - **Customizable Cubicles:** Design and arrange modular units to create larger cubicles that can accommodate various business activities, from private discussions to boardroom meetings. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Office Furniture Manufacturing:** Manufacture and design modular office furniture solutions that promote privacy and flexibility in open office environments. - **Interior Design Services:** Offer interior design services that specialize in creating acoustically dampened workspaces within open office layouts. - **Commercial Real Estate:** Develop office spaces with customizable cubicles to meet the needs of businesses looking for flexibility and privacy in their work environments. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Quirky Solo Office Pods](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/work-capsules.md) - [Work-Enhancing Partitioning Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/partitioning-system.md) - [Minimal Open-Plan Screen Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/arches-screen.md) - [Minimalist Private Office Pods](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/solarlux-soundproof-space.md) - [Acoustic Workstation Hoods](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/canopy-desk.md) - [People-Pleasing Office Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cubicle-system.md) - [Modular Work Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mespace-workstation.md) - [Contemporary Office Privacy Booths](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/plenum-cabin-by-jaime-hayon-for-fritz-hansen.md) - [Privacy Workspace Pods](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kabin.md)
