# Dual-Sensor Stylus Pens The 'Apple Pencil' is the Perfect Companion for the iPad Pro By Christopher Magsambol | Published 2015-09-09 | Tech Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/apple-pencil References: [mashable](http://mashable.com/2015/09/09/apple-pencil-stylus/?utm_source=feedly&utm_medium=webfeeds) & [gizmodo](http://gizmodo.com/apple-pencil-the-stylus-steve-jobs-warned-us-about-1729605755) Among the numerous products and services introduced at [Apple's](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/apple-pencil-pro) unveiling event, make sure not to overlook its new 'Apple [Pencil](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/new-apple-pencil).' Made to accompany the [iPad Pro](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pro-stylus-2), the partnering stylus is impressive in its own right. The first innovation would be the the dual sensor tip. One sensor detects the force on the screen, while the other detects the precise tilt of the Apple Pencil. This feature allows for more variation when writing, similar to a typical pencil. The screen of the iPad Pro itself is programmed to be more sensitive and differentiate between the stylus and a finger. The Apple Pencil is charged through a lightning connector that attaches to the iPad Pro. The pencil is meant to be compatible with a number of the upgraded iPad's features and apps including Mail, Notes and Adobe. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.9/10 - Popularity: 41% | Activity: 69% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/tech) > [Gadgets](https://www.trendhunter.com/gadgets) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Dual-sensor Stylus Pens:** Creating stylus pens with sensors enables more precise and realistic writing that mimics the feel of real pens/pencils - **Screen Sensitivity for Stylus Pens:** Developing screens that are more sensitive to stylus pens enables users to create more accurate and realistic drawings/writings - **Stylus Pen Charging:** Innovations in stylus pen charging can lead to more efficient and convenient charging methods for users ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Technology:** Companies in the technology industry can take advantage of the trend of stylus pens by creating cutting-edge stylus pens for use with touchscreens. - **Education:** The education industry can benefit from the stylus pen trend by incorporating the technology into online learning tools, allowing for more interactive experiences for students. - **Creative Industry:** Industries such as graphic design, animation, and drawing can use the stylus pen trend to create more realistic and intricate designs, improving the quality of their work. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Lifelike Writing Utensil Styluses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/apple-pencil-pro.md) - [Magnetic Wirelessly Charged Stylus](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pro-stylus-2.md) - [Low-Cost Entry-Level Styluses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/new-apple-pencil.md) - [Colorful Tech Stylus Devices](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/apple-crayon-pro.md) - [Premium Tablet Styluses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/logitech-2.md) - [Standard Pencil-Inspired Stylus](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/apple-number-2-pencil.md) - [Third-Party Tablet Styluses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/novaplus-a8-duo.md) - [Magnetic Low-Cost Tablet Styluses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/adonit-neo-pro.md) - [Multifunctional Stylus Pens](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mkq.md)
