# Native App-Building Tools The Fuse App Development Platform Will Focus on the Designers' Process By Alyson Wyers | Published 2015-04-09 | Tech Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/app-development-platform References: [techcrunch](http://techcrunch.com/2015/01/27/fuse-raises-2-8-million-for-a-cross-platform-app-development-platform-where-designers-play-a-bigger-role/) & [fusetools](https://www.fusetools.com/) Backed by [Northzone](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/aipowered-wealth-management-platforms) and [Alliance Venture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rtx-4090-btf), an Oslo and [Palo Alto](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/virtual-private-networks)-based startup raised $2.8 million for a design-centered app development platform. Fuse will be releasing a beta version later in 2015 after performing alpha testing in private for more than a year. Founded by Anders Lassen and Morten Fornes, Fuse offers app developers a platform that makes it easier and faster to build iOS and Android mobile apps simultaneously. As the mobile app industry (and more specifically custom apps) expands at a rapid pace, parallel versions of apps are necessary to be successful. Fuse hopes to change this by offering a different workflow than the standard process involving wireframes and conceptual mock-ups before coding and actual building begins. The app development platform will instead have a WYSIWYG editor so designers can be a bigger part of the overall process. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.6/10 - Popularity: 56% | Activity: 73% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 70% men, 30% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/tech) > [Mobile](https://www.trendhunter.com/mobile) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Design-centered App Development:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop app development tools and platforms that prioritize the designers' process for faster and easier app building. - **Simultaneous Ios and Android App Development:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Create tools and frameworks that enable developers to build apps for both iOS and Android simultaneously, saving time and effort. - **WYSIWYG Editor for App Design:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Build user-friendly app design tools with WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) editors to empower designers and streamline the app development process. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Mobile App Development:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop tools and platforms that revolutionize the mobile app development industry by enabling faster and more efficient app creation. - **Custom App Development:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Innovate the custom app development sector by providing solutions that simplify the process of building parallel versions for iOS and Android. - **Design Tools and Platforms:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Create intuitive design tools and platforms that allow designers to actively participate in the app development process and improve collaboration with developers. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Independent Mobile Game Investments](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/griffin-gaming-fuse-games.md) - [Visual App Builders](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/buildfy.md) - [Low-Code App Development Tools](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/app-development-tool.md) - [Platform-Generating AI Tools](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sutro.md) - [Instant App Development](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/boltnew.md) - [Metaverse App-Building Platforms](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/appbuilding-platforms.md) - [Sketch-To-Code Tools](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sketch2appio.md) - [Mobile App Starters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/deployjet.md) - [Influencer-Focused App Development Platforms](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mobile-app-development-platform.md)
