# Flatpack Traffic Cones The Conceptual 'Apiece' Traffic Cone by Chris Chang is Space-Saving By Michael Hemsworth | Published 2022-11-12 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/apiece-traffic-cone References: [yankodesign](https://www.yankodesign.com/2022/11/10/cleverly-designed-flat-packed-traffic-cone-can-be-assembled-in-multiple-ways-making-it-more-efficient/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=cleverly-designed-flat-packed-traffic-cone-can-be-assembled-in-multiple-ways-making-it-more-efficient) Conventional safety cones are characterized by their conical construction that can quickly overtake a storage space when not in use, so the conceptual 'Apiece' traffic cone is here to offer a [space-saving alternative](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/boxed-collection). Designed by Chris Chang, the traffic cones are constructed using a [series of identical panels that interconnect](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pla-modular-chair) with one another to form indicators as large or small as desired. The panels can thus create individual indicators or larger ones to suit the needs of any city worker. The conceptual 'Apiece' traffic cone drastically reduces the amount of storage space needed for the safety equipment, while also highlighting a [recyclable construction](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tronco). This will provide a more eco-friendly approach that doesn't require the cones to be tossed in the landfill at its end-of-life. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.7/10 - Popularity: 47% | Activity: 50% | Freshness: 13% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Space-saving Traffic Cones:** There is an opportunity to disrupt the traffic safety industry with innovative, collapsible traffic cones that take up less space when not in use. - **Interlocking Panel Indicators:** The idea of interlocking panels can be applied to other industries that use indicators or signage, providing a customizable and efficient solution. - **Eco-friendly Safety Equipment:** The trend towards eco-consciousness presents an opportunity to create safety equipment using recyclable materials that reduce waste and have a positive impact on the environment. ### Where This Applies - **Traffic Safety:** Flatpack traffic cones could disrupt the traditional traffic safety industry by providing an affordable, space-saving and customizable solution that protects both people and the environment. - **Construction:** The use of interlocking panels could revolutionize construction by creating a modular building solution that eliminates the need for traditional building materials, reducing waste and quickening the building process. - **Signage:** Interlocking panel technology offers an opportunity to innovate the signage industry, producing customizable and space-saving signs that can adapt to any need. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Flatpack Cyclist Safety Equipment](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/folding-helmet-concept.md) - [Collapsible Space-Saving Cyclist Helmets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/flipclip-go-helmet.md) - [Inflatable Accordion-Style Helmets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ventete-ah1.md) - [Origami-Style Cyclist Helmets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/raba-helmet.md) - [IoT-Connected Traffic Beacons](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/traffic-beacon-concept.md) - [Collapsible Space-Saving Suitcases](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/jollying-pebble-suitcase.md) - [Weather-Versatile Conical Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/conicent.md) - [Accordion-Style Coffee Cups](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/accordion-paper-cup.md) - [Fan-Shaped Stackable Stool Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/stool-concept.md)
