# Surreal Kyiv Interiors The Apartment with a Lizard Brings Theatrical Flair and Calm to City Living By Amy Duong | Published 2025-08-13 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/apartment-with-a-lizard References: [metricbureau](https://metricbureau.com/portfolio/proekt-creativ-design-remont-kiev/) The Apartment With a Lizard is a playful, surrealist home perched above Kyiv’s right-bank skyline. The design foregrounds emotional experience through bold theatricality balanced by serene calm. A monochrome red entryway, complete with red lighting, feels like entering a dollhouse from a cosmic carnival. Beyond, rich green living spaces provide respite, while a massive faux-fur–lined circular portal frames city views and doubles as a contemplative perch. Locally crafted elements warm the space with tactile character. A plush blue sectional by SVOYA Studio, a sculptural armchair by Woo, and a mushroom-inspired Pecherytsia coffee table bring texture and identity. The kitchen mirrors the living room’s green tone, accented with mirrored concrete, red Alpi veneer, and a whimsical lizard portrait by Valery Kuznetsov that nods to the home’s playful spirit. From its bold entry to its curated furnishings, the apartment weaves narrative, surprise, and sanctuary into a surreal yet boundlessly liveable home.
