The bench features [two seating sections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bench-for-two) that are separated from one another with a [slatted middle portion](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/leftover-bench) to help sitters engage in conversation without being too close to one another. This identifies what could be done in the new normal to help individuals get back to essential socializing in a way that respects public health protocols. The 'A-Part' bench is suitable for use in the age of social distancing, but will also allow the slats to be repositioned in the future to create a new look. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.1/10 - Popularity: 81% | Activity: 61% | Freshness: 10% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/furniture) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Social Distancing Furniture:** Designing and producing furniture that can provide a safe way for people to socialize during the pandemic. - **Flexible Seating Solutions:** Creating furniture that can adapt to different social distancing requirements and be modified in the future as needed. - **Outdoor Socializing:** Promoting outdoor socializing as a safer alternative to indoor gatherings with appropriately spaced and designed seating options. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Furniture Design:** Opportunity to create and market innovative furniture designs that accommodate safe socializing during the pandemic. - **Hospitality:** Hotels, restaurants, and bars can utilize social distancing furniture to provide a safer and more attractive option for customers to socialize. - **Outdoor Recreation:** Parks and other outdoor recreational areas could promote and provide social distancing furniture to encourage safe outdoor socializing. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Childhood Connection-Promoting Benches](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/buddy-bench1.md) - [Adaptive Public Seating](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/adp-bench.md) - [Dual-Seated Plate Aluminum Benches](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/move-a-little-bit-further.md) - [Bike-Friendly Outdoor Benches](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pinajarro-bench.md) - [Interaction-Promoting Public Benches](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bench-seating.md) - [Social Distancing Measurement Tools](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-social-stick.md) - [Two-Person Seesaw Benches](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/a-problem-halved.md) - [Muscle Loss-Combating Playground Benches](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/playground-bench.md) - [Inclusive Modular Cityscape Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/urban-bench.md)
