For his [public art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/flower-market-20) debut for the art show Event Horizon, the sculpture artist has placed [cast iron statues](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/eye-of-the-future) of his naked body around the city. Antony Gormley's [naked statues](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/queen-elizabeth-ii-1) can be found around Madison Square Park, on sidewalks and even on rooftops such as New York's iconic Flatiron Building. While I don't live in New York, I'd imagine Gormley's buck naked behind would be a welcome change of scenery--at least for some. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.5/10 - Popularity: 58% | Activity: 40% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Public Art Displays:** Displaying public art installations in cities to highlight the work of artists and stimulate cultural experiences. - **Sculptural Self-representation:** Creating sculptural representations of oneself can have value for artists and serve as disruptive innovation opportunities for art enthusiasts. - **City-wide Exhibits:** Using public urban spaces to showcase art installations to create novel experiences and spark public discourse. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Art and Sculpture:** Opportunities for sculptors and artists to create public installations and enhance their reach to wider audiences. - **City Planners and Civic Development:** Opportunities to develop civic spaces and city-wide exhibits to make cities more inviting and culturally rich. - **Tourism Industry:** Opportunities to promote cultural tourism and city-wide art trails that showcase public art displays. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [UK-Based Modern Art Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/relics-in-the-landscape.md) - [Reflective Urban Art Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/minibean.md) - [Public Art Displays](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/paul-anthony-smith.md) - [Artful Suspended Fashion Exhibitions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/invisible-figures.md) - [Peace-Centric Oversized Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/peace-head.md) - [Sculptural Gallery Art Exhibitions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kennedy-yanko.md) - [Outdoor Floral Sculpture Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sculptures-at-kew-gardens.md) - [Statement Street Art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/surreal-street-art-1.md) - [Lightning-Inspired Artful Exhibitions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bright-light-shining.md)
