Each bookcase uses a [real trunk from a tree](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/roots-collection-1) that acts as the main support system for the shelf. The first shelf titled 'Trunk Library' uses a large trunk that works like a spine. The shelves run straight across the trunk, which means there is no need for side paneling on this bookcase. The second unit titled [Library Aniqua](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mushroom-library) uses two slimmer trunks that are posted at either end of the shelf and act as the perimeter to contain books and novel collections. These minimal units bring a [nature-esque feeling into any interior room](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/imprint-collection). This design by Antoniazzi & Piovesana also provides a sense rustic comfort and uses less wood than a traditional bookcases by eliminating the need for backing. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 6.6/10 - Popularity: 98% | Activity: 92% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 70% men, 30% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Eco](https://www.trendhunter.com/eco) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Nature-inspired Furniture:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Create furniture designs that incorporate natural elements, such as tree trunks, to bring a unique and rustic aesthetic to interior spaces. - **Minimalist Shelving:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop shelving units that prioritize simplicity and minimalism, using unconventional materials and techniques to create a streamlined and visually appealing design. - **Sustainable Design:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Design furniture pieces that promote sustainability by using less wood and reducing environmental impact, while still providing functionality and style. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Furniture Manufacturing:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Integrate natural elements like tree trunks into furniture manufacturing processes to create unique and visually striking pieces that cater to eco-conscious consumers. - **Interior Design:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Explore nature-inspired design concepts to bring the beauty and serenity of the outdoors into interior spaces, creating a harmonious and tranquil atmosphere. - **Home Decor Retail:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Curate a collection of minimalist and sustainable home decor products, including nature-inspired furniture, to cater to a growing demand for eco-friendly and aesthetically pleasing designs. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Sculptural Bookshelves Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sculptural-bookshelf.md) - [Forest-Inspired Wooden Cabinets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hayashi-cabinet.md) - [Book-Storing Side Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bookgroove-bookrack.md) - [Wood-Wrapped Contemporary Libraries](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/graded-school-library.md) - [Tree-Like Library Spaces](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/forest-of-knowledge.md) - [Minimalist Bookish Shelves](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/minimal-bookshelf.md) - [Sliding Wintery Landscape Bookshelves](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/manhwabang-bookshelf.md) - [Eco-Friendly Organized Containers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tronco.md) - [Expandable Bookcase Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/burrow-index-bookcase.md)
