Yet upon closer inspection, it becomes abundantly clear that there is much more going on when it comes to the traditional imagery. There is a sense of depth not normally associated with them and that is due to the fact that the scenes have been carved out. Working with secondhand objects, Slotte brings a new dimension to antique plate art. As written in her statement, "Demonstrating an engaged sensitivity towards the associations, memories and narratives inherent in the objects, Slotte´s intricate physical interventions allows us to see things we would otherwise not have seen." ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.6/10 - Popularity: 28% | Activity: 11% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Upcycled Antique Art:** Using secondhand objects to create intricate physical interventions that bring a new dimension to antique art. - **Sculptured Porcelain Art:** Layering and carving out porcelain to create striking sculptures with a sense of depth and traditional imagery. - **Narrative Art:** Demonstrating an engaged sensitivity towards the associations, memories and narratives inherent in objects to create thought-provoking art pieces. ### Who This Affects Most - **Art:** Creating new opportunities for artists to explore different ways of working with antique objects, porcelain and narrative art. - **Interior Design:** Providing unique and visually striking sculptured porcelain art for interior designers to incorporate in decor projects. - **Sustainable Living:** Encouraging a sustainable lifestyle by promoting upcycled antique art as a way of re-purposing and reducing waste. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Handmade Dessert Plates](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/carolina-k.md) - [Textural Porcelain Vessels](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tamara-efrat.md) - [Innovative Ceramic Tableware](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ceramic-tableware1.md) - [Modern Poertic Ceramics](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/virginia-sin.md) - [Hand-Painted Ceramic Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/handpainted-ceramic-collections.md) - [Sculptural Mixed-Media Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/folded-echoes.md) - [Biology-Inspired Porcelain Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/shiyuan-xu.md) - [Revived Mid-Century Serveware](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tortugaware.md) - [Porcelain Dinnerware Sets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/monte-porcelain.md)
