In the United States, a vehicle is stolen every 40 seconds, so an innovation like this anti-theft driver's seat would provide much value. The seat was created by Japanese engineers from Tokyo's [Advanced Institute of Industrial Technology](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/toyota-hilux), and it essentially makes your butt the key to turning on your car!

The anti-theft driver's seat is created with 360 pressure sensors to analyze the shape of your bum and where the seat is depressed. The impression you make then becomes your personalized vehicle "key," and when another person -- who obviously doesn't have the same bum shape -- sits in the seat, the car won't start. As [Wired UK](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/visionary-art-challenge) puts it, "The car won't go into gear if it ain't your rear."

So far, the anti-theft driver's seat has a 98 percent recognition rate, and the team hopes to collaborate with car makers in the near future to commercialize the system. My only question is, what if you share your vehicle?
