The Internet and social media are widely lauded as helping free expression, but the fact of the matter is that a lot of us hold back from expressing our true opinions about controversial topics because people get upset, reasonably or otherwise. This often results in people bottling up their true feelings and thoughts about issues. This is where the Candid app comes in. The app guarantees your anonymity using [artificial intelligence](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pin-ai), giving you peace of mind that you can frankly and freely express yourself. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.4/10 - Popularity: 36% | Activity: 59% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/tech) > [Mobile](https://www.trendhunter.com/mobile) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Anonymous Sharing:** Anonymous sharing apps like Candid are gaining popularity, offering a platform for people to freely express their opinions without fear of backlash. - **Free Expression:** The rise of anonymous sharing apps reflects a growing desire for individuals to express their true opinions without censorship or judgement. - **Artificial Intelligence:** AI-powered anonymity features in apps like Candid present opportunities for tech companies to develop innovative solutions for privacy protection. ### Where This Applies - **Social Media:** The anonymous sharing trend presents opportunities for social media platforms to enhance user engagement by providing a safe space for open and honest conversations. - **Artificial Intelligence:** The integration of AI technologies in anonymous sharing apps creates opportunities for AI companies to develop advanced algorithms for ensuring user privacy and security. - **Online Communication:** Anonymous sharing apps are disrupting the online communication industry, offering individuals a platform to express themselves authentically and connect with like-minded individuals. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Anonymous Audio Platforms](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mindfuse.md) - [Video-Enabled Dating Apps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/candid-dating-app.md) - [Anonymous Social Wellness Apps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/social-wellness1.md) - [Anonymous Kindness Tools](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/soothe1.md) - [AI-Aided Social Networks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/befake-ai-social-network.md) - [Anonymous Campus Story Sharing](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/unstag.md) - [Anonymous Messaging Platforms](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/shushh.md) - [Safe Stranger Chat Apps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/whisperly-app.md) - [Anonymous Workplace Review Features](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/glassdoor-communities.md)
