Rather that the solid structure that one would summon to mind at the mention of a rocking chair, Anker Bak has create a [minimalist folding design](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/patan-chair) that would fit into most contemporary homes. Bak's chair is called the 'Rocking Nest Chair.' Though the legs and runners are made from wood, the seat is a combination of soft leather and canvas, and it consists of a uniform oval rather than a distinct seat and back. Steel struts act as part of the support for the chair, and those struts can detach from the runner, which allows it to fold up for easy storage or transportation. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.9/10 - Popularity: 58% | Activity: 50% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/furniture) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Minimalist Furniture:** Designing furniture with a minimalist approach to better fit into modern interior design. - **Foldable Furniture:** Designing furniture that can be easily transported and stored through a foldable structure. - **Innovative Seating Design:** Redesigning traditional seating designs through the use of unique materials and structural components. ### Where This Applies - **Furniture Manufacturing:** Opportunity for furniture manufacturers to create and market more modern, space-saving designs. - **Interior Design:** Opportunity for interior designers to create unique and functional spaces with minimalist furniture designs. - **Home Goods Retail:** Opportunity for home goods retailers to offer new, innovative furniture designs to customers looking for minimalist furniture options. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Ultra-Minimalist Folding Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/notch-folding-chair.md) - [Contemporary Rocking Chair Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/penguin-rocking-chair.md) - [Modernized Rocking Chair Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nodding-chair.md) - [Wooden Lounge Rocking Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nice-chair.md) - [Industrial Flatpack Chair Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tekron-folding-chair.md) - [Sleek Structural Rocking Horses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rocking-horse-chair.md) - [Geometric Rocking Chair Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/oval-rocking-chair.md) - [Rocking Outdoor Chair Attachments](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rocking-feet.md) - [Compact Foldable Camping Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/foldable-lander.md)
