# Stick-On Motion Lights IKEA ANKARLÄGG Nightlight Runs for Six Months on Batteries By Amy Duong | Published 2026-03-06 | Lifestyle Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ankarlgg References: [ikea](http://ikea.com/se/en/p/ankarlaegg-led-nightlight-with-sensor-battery-operated-60612827/) The [IKEA](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ikea-gmpyssling-led-light) [ANKARLÄGG](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ikea-ankarlgg) is a compact stick-on LED nightlight designed to provide simple illumination without wiring or plugs. Shaped like the outline of a classic lightbulb, the device attaches to any flat surface using double-sided adhesive backing. The light includes a [built-in motion sensor](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/stair-lift) that activates when movement is detected within roughly three meters in dark conditions. Once motion stops, the light automatically switches off after about 30 seconds to conserve power. Powered by two AAA batteries, the ANKARLÄGG is designed to operate for up to six months under regular use, which IKEA estimates at around ten motion activations per day. The nightlight measures about 105 millimeters tall and weighs roughly 80 grams, making it small enough for closets, stairways, or hallways. Its polycarbonate body and frosted polypropylene cover diffuse the LED light to produce a soft glow intended for nighttime visibility rather than full room illumination.
