# Hefty Animal Scales Measure Weight in Terms of Animals not Pounds By Marissa Liu | Published 2009-12-18 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/animal-scale References: [craziestgadgets](http://craziestgadgets.com/2009/12/17/animal-scales-youre-a-fat-hog/) & [lazyboneuk](http://www.lazyboneuk.com/products/Animal-Weighing-Scales.html) I’ve never been a fan of scales--as far as I’m concerned your weight isn’t the most accurate gauge of your health of happiness. This adorable animal scale does away with numbers in favor or images of animals. The animal scale claims to make a rough comparison of your weight to that of you favorite (or least favorite) critter. So, now when you say that you are a, “fat cow” or “giant pig” you can step on the animal scale to prove your claims. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.7/10 - Popularity: 56% | Activity: 77% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Animal-inspired Weighing Devices:** Opportunity for disruptive innovation in creating animal-inspired weighing devices that provide a more lighthearted and relatable approach to measuring weight. - **Gamification of Weight Measurement:** Opportunity for disruptive innovation in developing weight measurement tools that incorporate gamification elements, making the process more engaging and enjoyable. - **Emotional Well-being Metrics:** Opportunity for disruptive innovation in introducing emotional well-being metrics in weight measurement, promoting a more comprehensive understanding of health and happiness. ### Where This Applies - **Consumer Electronics:** Opportunity for disruptive innovation in the consumer electronics industry by creating animal-inspired weighing devices. - **Health and Wellness:** Opportunity for disruptive innovation in the health and wellness industry by gamifying weight measurement tools to enhance user engagement and motivation. - **Digital Health:** Opportunity for disruptive innovation in the digital health industry by integrating emotional well-being metrics into weight measurement solutions. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Feather-Safe Bird Scales](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/perchcare.md) - [Size-Inclusive Weight Scales](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/premium-wide-base-weight-scale.md) - [High-Precision Sensor Scales](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/household-smart-scale.md) - [Skateboard-Inspired Body Scales](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/skateboard-scale.md) - [Multi-Use Smart Scales](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/scale-x.md) - [Smart-Designed Body Scales](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/smartdesigned-body-scale.md) - [Pig-Weighing Pen Cameras](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dol-sensors.md) - [Holistic Health Smart Scales](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/korehealth-korescale.md) - [Smart Health Scales](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/withings-body-scan-2.md)
