It’s not every day that we’re likely to be put in a situation where we can openly gaze into the eyes of the wild animals roaming our world; except now we can thanks to this mesmerizing animal photography photo series.

Looking at a picture of a staring contest between animals may not be as surreal as it could be in the wild, but at least now we can at least just get a glance of the intensity found in their eyes. The brave photographer Sue Demetriou does a beautiful job of just that in her latest animal photography photo series, in which she captures the encounter between man and animal.

Having travelled to various [wildlife parks, wetlands and zoos](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/xplra-10) to get her images, Demetriou’s series almost portrays these animals “as [unique individuals](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/portrait-mom) and reveals their aesthetic magic.”
