Animal lovers will appreciate this striking collection of [bespoke chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/calma-lounge-by-layer) by the artist who has periodically designed [beast-shaped seating designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/poodle-armchair) that are breathtakingly beautiful yet too pricey to be within most people's reach. But there is definitely no harm in admiring Riera's work -- which in the past has ranged from octopus creations to whales and insects. The latest animal chair creation comes in the form of the Hippopotamus Chair. “For this design, its tremendous size and volume has been preserved, evading any sections or partitions along its body, in order to accomplish an entire life-size piece,” says Riera. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 6.6/10 - Popularity: 98% | Activity: 91% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Wildlife-inspired Furniture:** Opportunity for designers to create stunning and unique furniture pieces inspired by animals. - **Bespoke Design:** Increasing demand for customized and exclusive furniture designs that stand out. - **Luxury Home Decor:** Growing market for high-end and visually striking furniture pieces that add prestige to homes. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Furniture Manufacturing:** Incorporate wildlife-inspired designs into their product offerings to cater to a niche market. - **Interior Design:** Utilize bespoke furniture pieces to create unforgettable and personalized spaces for clients. - **Luxury Retail:** Curate collections of high-end and unique furniture pieces to attract affluent customers seeking distinctive home decor. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Ultra-Comfy Seating Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cushy-lounge-chair.md) - [Sea Creature-Inspired Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/seat-urchin.md) - [Anatomical Lounge Seating](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/himalaya-pelvis-chair.md) - [Rope-Like Dynamic Chair Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/caterpillar-lounge.md) - [Posh Pet-Friendly Chair Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/arch-chair-design.md) - [Smart Bulbous Seating Solutions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/buffo.md) - [Wilderness-Inspired Furniture Series](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/habitat-collection.md) - [Posh Pet-Friendly Chair Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/quella-chair.md) - [Seashell-Inspired Chair Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/traditional-and-digital-techniques.md)
