# Modern Fish Themed Chairs The Anglerfish Chair Provides Consumers with Modern Light-Up Seating By Lacey-Jane Walsh | Published 2013-06-10 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/anglerfish References: [beautifullife.info](http://www.beautifullife.info/interior-design/unique-anglerfish-chair-by-ontwerpers/) & [oppewal](http://www.oppewal.com/nl/collectie/light-up) Modern home owners will appreciate the Anglerfish Chair, which provides consumers with a sleek light up seating area. This intriguing chair design was created to resemble anglerfish, which have light-up tails that curve upward towards their faces. The chair was designed by the company Ontwerpers. This chair looks as though it's made from a grayish colored marble material. Like the fish, the chair has a curved lamp post attached to the back, so that whoever is using this chair is seated directly underneath the large light. That makes this chair perfect for those who like to read outside. The only downside is that it looks as though this chair needs to be plugged in to light up, so you may need an extension cord. The extremely modern Anglerfish Chair will add flair to pretty much any setting. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.2/10 - Popularity: 19% | Activity: 10% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/furniture) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Light-up Seating:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop seating solutions with integrated lighting to create a unique and modern ambiance. - **Fish-themed Furniture:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Embrace the concept of animal-inspired furniture designs to appeal to modern and creative-minded consumers. - **Outdoor Reading Furniture:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Design comfortable outdoor furniture specifically catered to reading enthusiasts, incorporating ergonomic features and lighting options. ### Who This Affects Most - **Furniture Design:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Explore unconventional materials, shapes, and themes in furniture design, incorporating modern and functional elements. - **Lighting Technology:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop innovative lighting solutions for furniture and outdoor settings to enhance atmosphere and functionality. - **Home Decor:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Create unique and eye-catching home decor items that incorporate nature-inspired designs and functional lighting elements. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Industrial Light-Equipped Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hidden-light-chair.md) - [Modular Mood Seating](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lumen-chair.md) - [Sea Creature-Inspired Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/seat-urchin.md) - [Supportive Lightning Bolt Seating](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lightning-chair.md) - [3D-Printed Upcycled Net Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-kelp-chair.md) - [Quirky Postmodern Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-ebba-armchair.md) - [Contemporary Rocking Chair Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/penguin-rocking-chair.md) - [Seashell-Inspired Chair Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/traditional-and-digital-techniques.md) - [Ergonomic Butterfly-Inspired Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wings-chair.md)
