# Diagonally Delineated Pitchers The Angle Measuring Cup Lets You Quantify Volume While Pouring By Amelia Roblin | Published 2011-11-30 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/angle-measuring-cup References: [yankodesign](http://www.yankodesign.com/2011/11/29/liquid-measure-with-a-precise-tilt/) & [umutdemirel](http://www.umutdemirel.com/32118/312279/portfolio/angle-measuring-cup) Off of the top of their heads, few people may be able to list any major faults of the standard measuring cup. Interestingly, while contemplating the [simple yet inventive](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/enso-tape) new feature of the Angle Measuring Cup, one significant shortcoming of its predecessors becomes immediately apparent. For a large vessel such as this, one may need to tilt it to fill it up under the kitchen faucet, but this makes it quite difficult to gauge the volume acquired. Similarly, if the cook strives to pour a [precise portion](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/okapa) from a [full jug](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/koppel-pitcher), the task is nearly impossible without the use of a second marked vessel. The Angle Measuring Cup by Umut Demirel is ideal for both of these situations. It has been labeled with diagonal lines for determining capacity when the meniscus meets the spout. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.2/10 - Popularity: 36% | Activity: 23% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Improved Measuring Tools:** The Angle Measuring Cup highlights the need for measuring tools that can accurately determine volume while pouring. - **Enhanced Precision:** The diagonal lines on the Angle Measuring Cup demonstrate the demand for precision in measuring and pouring liquids. - **Convenient Kitchen Gadgets:** The Angle Measuring Cup showcases the trend of creating innovative gadgets that solve common problems in the kitchen. ### Who This Affects Most - **Kitchenware:** The Angle Measuring Cup presents opportunities for the kitchenware industry to develop more efficient and precise measuring tools. - **Appliances:** The Angle Measuring Cup points to the potential for incorporating measuring functionality into existing kitchen appliances. - **Smart Home:** The Angle Measuring Cup suggests the need for smart home devices that can assist with precise measurements and pouring in the kitchen. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Single-Piece Silicone Measuring Cups](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/boi-measuring-cup.md) - [Effortless Tea Brewing Cups](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cuptone-teacup.md) - [Colorful Elevated Glassware Lines](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/elevated-glassware.md) - [Multi-Functional Kitchen Tools](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/multifunctional-kitchen-tools.md) - [Ingredient-Measuring Cocktail Pitchers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ezdrinks-cocktail-pitcher-and-recipe-rulers.md) - [Instant Noodle-Inspired Measuring Cups](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nissin-measuring-cup.md) - [Shifting Hydration Cup Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tilting-water-cup.md) - [Tri-Spout Latte Art Pitchers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/latte-art-pitcher.md) - [Self-Measuring Cocktail Glasses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/elevated-craft-hybrid-cocktail-glass.md)
