# Aerial Volcanic River Photography The Andre Ermolaev Icelandic Volcano Pictures are Stunning By Cody Turner | Published 2012-09-26 | Tech Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/andre-ermolaev References: [thisiscolossal](http://www.thisiscolossal.com/2012/09/aerial-photographs-of-volcanic-iceland-by-andre-ermolaev/) & [andreabe.fishup.ru](http://andreabe.fishup.ru/) Photographer Andre Ermolaev has been collecting a series of aerial photographs of some of Iceland's flowing rivers that go through endless beds of volcanic ash. It is hard to believe that these works of art are actual photographs and not abstract paintings. You would also think that given its name, Iceland would not be the first place you would think to have active volcanos. But the country is actually home to almost 30 active volcanic systems. These photographs capture the great artistry of nature in all its color and detail. The rivers create a stunning pathway down the ashen sides of the black volcanic sand. "Iceland is a wonderful country; I would even say that it is a true paradise for all the photo shooting-lovers," says Andre. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.3/10 - Popularity: 83% | Activity: 67% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, South America, Europe, Asia, Africa ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/tech) > [Photography](https://www.trendhunter.com/photography) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Aerial Photography:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop advanced drone technology for capturing stunning aerial photographs of natural landscapes. - **Volcanic Landscapes:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Create immersive virtual reality experiences to explore and study volcanic landscapes without physical limitations. - **Nature-inspired Art:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop AI-powered tools that transform photographs into abstract paintings, bridging the gap between traditional and digital art. ### Who This Affects Most - **Photography:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Design specialized cameras and lenses for capturing unique natural phenomena like rivers flowing through volcanic ash. - **Tourism:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop eco-friendly tourism packages that offer guided tours and educational experiences focused on exploring volcanic landscapes. - **Art and Design:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Create art installations and exhibitions that blend photography, technology, and natural elements to evoke emotional connections with the environment. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Volcanic Stone Lighting](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/foscarini-lava-lamps.md) - [Volcanic-Themed Light Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/stone-archive.md) - [Volcanic Visitor Architecture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/plat-asia.md) - [Customized Volcano-Monitoring Drones](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/littleraven.md) - [Unique Regional Experiences](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/icelandair-boasts-activities.md) - [Volcanic Lighting Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lighting-installation.md) - [Adventure-Seeking Iceland Flight Programs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/iceland-flight-program.md) - [Breathtaking Archipelago Getaways](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/archipelago-getaway.md) - [North Iceland Lagoons](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/north-iceland-geothermal-vacations.md)
