Seen here are a handful of [portraits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/glass-portraits) depicting [beloved comic book characters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/super-heroes-vs-villains) as they stare at viewers in a stoic manner. It’s almost as though the likes of Batgirl, Wonder Woman, Storm, Hellboy and Dr. Doom are getting their mugshots taken at a police station, but it isn’t just their lackluster expressions that gravitate me towards the series. As usual, Andre De Freitas delivers with his patented pseudo-realist style that amalgamates itself with the best aspects of dynamic comic rendering. The awesome lighting of his pictures also gives off a controlled photoshoot vibe, making the [superheroes appear like supermodels](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hot-toys-2). ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 6.6/10 - Popularity: 97% | Activity: 93% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 70% men, 30% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Pop Culture](https://www.trendhunter.com/popculture) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Comic Book Illustration:** Opportunity for artists to create visually stunning and dynamic illustrations of beloved comic book characters. - **Stoic Portraits:** Growing demand for stoic and thought-provoking character portraits in the illustration industry. - **Pseudo-realist Style:** Opportunity to explore the combination of realism and fantasy in art, creating a unique and captivating visual style. ### Who This Affects Most - **Illustration:** Artists specializing in comic book illustration can cater to the demand for visually stunning and dynamic artwork. - **Entertainment Merchandise:** Opportunity for companies to license and market stoic portrait prints of beloved comic book characters. - **Art Galleries:** Galleries can showcase the works of artists specializing in pseudo-realist style, attracting art enthusiasts and collectors. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [AI-Generated Motorbike Helmets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/coldstar-art.md) - [Reimagined Beloved Character Comics](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/marvel-and-disney.md) - [Comic-Inspired Soda Cans](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-heroes.md) - [Comic Book Hero Collectibles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/comic-book-heros.md) - [Sci-Fi-Inspired Classical Posters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sen-donnan.md) - [Glamorous Artful Bronze Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sweet-jane.md) - [Limited Humorous Art Prints](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/david-shrigley-1.md) - [Stunning Origami Portraits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/origami-portaits.md) - [Superhero-Themed Headphone Stands](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/3dprinted-headphone-stands.md)
