# Super-Slender Chesterfields The Anderssen & Voll Mono Sofa Reimagines the Comfy Couch By Amelia Roblin | Published 2011-03-11 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/anderssen-voll-mono-sofa References: [mocoloco](http://mocoloco.com/fresh2/2011/03/08/mono-sofa-by-anderssen-voll.php) & [hjelle.no](http://www.hjelle.no/en/produkt/mono) One may take pride and comfort in their plump and plushy chesterfields, but the slim [Anderssen & Voll](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/anderssen-voll1) Mono Sofa has coziness on offer without the bulky frame. Its minimalistic planar form is a boxy thing of beauty, crafted to create graceful clean lines with paper-thin comfy cushions. The comfort one can find on this rather rigid-looking couch is quite unexpected. A single pillow can turn the piece into an effective recliner, but the Mono Sofa is best used for a supported repose that lessens the sitter's ability to slouch. Made for LK Hjelle, the chic chesterfield is available as a one, two and three seater. The Anderssen & Voll Mono Sofa is optimal for smaller living spaces, and perfect for minimalist design. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 0.9/10 - Popularity: 12% | Activity: 6% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Home](https://www.trendhunter.com/home) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Minimalist Furniture Design:** Companies can explore opportunities in producing minimalistic and slimmed down furniture that take up less space while remaining stylish and comfortable. - **Single Pillow Design:** Companies can consider exploring the use of a single pillow design for sofas that can serve as a flexible recliner. - **Supportive Seating Options:** Companies can experiment with the use of rigid-looking couch designs that offer unexpected comfort and promote supported repose to minimize slouching and bad posture. ### Who This Affects Most - **Furniture Design:** Furniture designers and manufacturers can explore the potential market for minimalist sofa designs that take up less space in homes with smaller living spaces. - **Interior Design:** Interior designers can incorporate minimalist furniture designs to provide sleek and modern aesthetics to their designs. - **Health and Wellness:** Companies that focus on promoting health and wellness can investigate the use of supportive couch designs that address the negative effects of slouching on posture and spinal health. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [SIngle Cushion-Explored Seating Series](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/slim-collection.md) - [Sculptural Minimalism Sofa Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/noom-hello-sofa.md) - [Organic Contour Couch Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/siwa-sofa.md) - [Voluptuous Modern Sofa Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/reimagined-everyday-sofa.md) - [High-Back Embracing Sofas](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cozmo-hug.md) - [Ultra-Relaxed Sofa Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/knoll-perron-pillo.md) - [Enveloping Sofa Structures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/perron-pillo.md) - [Rounded Modular Sofa Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/smooth-sofa.md) - [Gently Curved Seating Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mono-chair-collection.md)
