Although tablets have become more portable over time, this new device will feature a revolutionary form of bendable technology that will make it more flexible than anything else on the market. The design of the new tablet will feature a tubular device that is reminiscent of an ancient scroll. The tube will have a slit on one side that allows the screen to roll out with the touch of a button. The bendable technology provides a [flexible display](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/stretchable-display) that can be tucked away for maximum convenience. Portability is a coveted feature in mobile devices and this new tablet could set the industry standard for other electronics. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 6.5/10 - Popularity: 93% | Activity: 95% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/tech) > [Gadgets](https://www.trendhunter.com/gadgets) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Bendable Technology:** New technologies that enable devices to bend, roll up or fold offer opportunities for brands to create innovative products that are portable and flexible. - **Rollable Displays:** Rollable displays that can be easily tucked away offers a new level of convenience to users and presents new opportunities for brands to design novel form factors. - **Maximizing Portability:** The trend for increased portability of devices is stronger than ever, opening up opportunities to brands that can innovate to provide a high level of convenience to users. ### Where This Applies - **Consumer Electronics:** The Consumer Electronics industry should explore the opportunities presented by bendable technology in order to bring innovative products to market. - **Mobile Devices:** The Mobile Devices industry should consider the rollable display as a way to differentiate their product offering and stay ahead of their competition. - **Design:** Design-focused companies can create significant value by exploring the potential of bendable technology to design cutting-edge innovative products. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Script-Like Foldable Display Screens](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rollable-flex.md) - [Rolling Smart Home Displays](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rollable-display-concept.md) - [Transforming Tablet Smartphones](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/samsung-galaxy-fold-mini-concept.md) - [Expanding Rollable Display Smartphones](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lg-rollable.md) - [Rollable Smartwatch Screens](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rollable-smartwatch.md) - [Briefcase-Like Flexible Laptops](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/flexible-briefcase.md) - [Rollable Multi-Screen Monitors](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/thinkbook-plus-gen-6-rollable.md) - [Rollable Phone Screen Patents](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/huawei-rollable.md) - [Flexible Folding Concept Phone](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/flex-in-out-flip.md)
