# Dimension Bending Illusion Videos Brusspup Creates a Video Full of Anamorphic Illusions By Jonathon Brown | Published 2012-11-29 | Pop Culture Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/anamorphic-illusions References: [thisiscolossal](http://www.thisiscolossal.com/2012/11/anamorphic-illusions-by-brasspup/) & [youtube](http://www.youtube.com/user/brusspup) Some things are not always how they appear, which is the case with these [anamorphic illusions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/serena-antigravity-humidifier) from master illusionist Brusspup. The method of producing these images is pretty straight forward. What happens is a photo is taken of the objects and placed on the desk, so you're never actually seeing a 3D object. The pictures are skewed all along, but they're filmed on an angle so they look like 3D objects. The camera goes in for a close up and everything looks legit, but when it pulls back and the hand moves in the trick is revealed. Brusspup features similar illusions on his [YouTube channel](http://www.youtube.com/user/brusspup) which are described as "illusion science." For this particular illusion, he even includes the images he used so viewers at home can print them out and try this themselves. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.2/10 - Popularity: 75% | Activity: 74% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Gen Alpha, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Pop Culture](https://www.trendhunter.com/popculture) > [Viral](https://www.trendhunter.com/viral) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Anamorphic Illusions:** Create anamorphic illusions using skewed images and clever camera angles. - **Illusion Science:** Explore the intersection of art and science through optical illusions. - **User-generated Illusions:** Encourage viewers to create their own anamorphic illusions with printable images. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Art and Design:** Leverage anamorphic illusions to create visually captivating artworks. - **Entertainment:** Incorporate anamorphic illusions into movies, TV shows, and live performances for a mind-bending experience. - **Education:** Integrate illusion science into educational materials to engage students in a multidisciplinary approach. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Geometric Sculpture Boxes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/illusion-box.md) - [Optical Illusion Replica Artworks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/liberty-science-center.md) - [Illusion-Inspired Design Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ripples-collection.md) - [Optical Illusion Mirrors](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hooptical.md) - [Gradient Tonal Optical Vases](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/stretch-color.md) - [3D-Printed Flip Books](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/stl-sculptures.md) - [Optical Illusion Carpets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-3d-carpet.md) - [Paper Curvature Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/paper-curves.md) - [Dynamic Moving-Illusion Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/moving-furniture.md)
