# Lung Ashtray Gives Thought By Design Crack | Published 2007-05-21 | Unique Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/an-ashtray-that-gives-thought References: [designcrack](http://designcrack.com/v2/2007/03/28/lung-ashtray-by-finding-cheska/) & [findingcheska](http://www.findingcheska.com) Sometimes I wonder how it's possible that I'm able to feature two lung ashtrays in such a short period of time. The first lung ashtray I saw was by an extremely adept Italian design firm called industreal with their smoke like a chimney ashtray. Now, here I am with a lung ashtray by Finding Cheska. I'm not sure what my obsession with lung ashtrays is, but I am a smoker in my mid-thirties with a family. I really only have maybe one a day, but cigarettes still linger in my consciousness. The truth is, unlike the Smoke Like a Chimney ashtray which is designed to make me think of quitting in a profound way, the lung ashtray makes me think of pouring batter into it and making a really cool upside-down cake! What the heck, you say? Just look at this piece of ceramic. When you turn your cake over after using the lung ashtray, your cake will be left with these beautiful vein patterns which could then be filled with a raspberry sauce. This could be a fun party cake for Halloween or as a get well cake for anyone who has recently had a lung removed. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.7/10 - Popularity: 47% | Activity: 57% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Unique](https://www.trendhunter.com/unique) > [Inventions](https://www.trendhunter.com/inventions) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Lung Ashtrays:** Lung ashtrays are becoming a popular trend, offering unique and creative designs that serve as a conversation starter. - **Smoking Cessation Products:** The demand for smoking cessation products like the 'Smoke Like a Chimney' ashtray is increasing, providing opportunities for innovative solutions to promote quitting smoking. - **Upside-down Cakes:** The trend of using lung ashtrays to create upside-down cakes with unique vein patterns is gaining traction, presenting an opportunity for creative cake designs. ### Who This Affects Most - **Design:** The design industry can capitalize on the trend of lung ashtrays by creating visually appealing and functional ashtrays that cater to different consumer preferences. - **Healthcare:** The healthcare industry can explore the use of lung ashtrays and smoking cessation products as tools to educate and motivate individuals to quit smoking and improve lung health. - **Baking and Confectionery:** The baking and confectionery industry can leverage the trend of using lung ashtrays to create upside-down cakes, offering unique and visually stunning cake options for special occasions. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Retro-Modern Ashtray Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/houseplant-side-table-ashtray.md) - [High-End Ashtray Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ash-blackwood-ashtray.md) - [Storage-Equipped Concrete Ashtrays](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vessel-ash.md) - [Retro Ashtray Sets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/retro-ashtray.md) - [Elevated Celeb-Backed Ashtray Sets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ashtray-set.md) - [Sculptural Sleek Cannabis Accessories](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nesting-set.md) - [Clamping Windproof Ashtrays](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/clamping-windproof-ashtray.md) - [Dual-Purpose Vintage-Inspired Home Objects](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vintageinspired-home-object.md) - [Candle-Shaped One-Hitter Glass Pipes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/onehitter-glass-pipe.md)
