This Tube Lamp is one. Before chips and before transistors, there were these vacuum tubes. They disappeared for a while, but now they're back, but this time, just for fun. "This Tube Lamp is an homage to high end audio amplifiers, with some funky details," SlipperBrick wrote. "What you get is a series of 9 tubes with 25 Watt lamps inside. The [glass tubes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tuloa) glow when switched on, so you can pretend you are a [mad scientist](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/spacetime-transformation-lamp)." A black bakelight box, a dimmer, and toggle switch complete the lamp that any [retro tech lover](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/joe-colombo) will fawn over. Evil geniuses unite. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.0/10 - Popularity: 11% | Activity: 40% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/tech) > [Gadgets](https://www.trendhunter.com/gadgets) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Retro Tech:** Opportunity for innovating products that blend vintage designs with modern functionality - **Vacuum Tube Revival:** Opportunity for innovating vacuum tube technology in various industries - **Sci-fi Inspired Design:** Opportunity for innovating designs inspired by iconic sci-fi gadgets and inventions ### Where This Applies - **Audio Equipment Manufacturing:** Opportunity to experiment with vacuum tube technology in high-end audio amplifiers - **Interior Design:** Opportunity to incorporate retro tech and sci-fi inspired designs in home furnishings and decor - **Entertainment:** Opportunity to create props and set designs inspired by retro tech and sci-fi gadgets in film and television productions ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Retro Vinyl Record-Inspired Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/gramophone-lamp.md) - [Style-Conscious Guitar Amps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/amonito-guitar-amplifier.md) - [Retro App-Controlled Lava Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/appcontrolled-lava-lamp.md) - [Retrofuturistic Tube Amplifier Jukeboxes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dukebox.md) - [Vintage-Inspired Candle Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vintageinspired-candle-lamps.md) - [Tubular Totem-Like Floor Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/alma-light-totem-i.md) - [Quirky Common Item Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/table-lamp-lighter.md) - [Scenic Architecture Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/architecture-inspired-table-lamp.md) - [Single-Digit Nixie Tube Clocks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lamp-clocks.md)
