The feature works by allowing users to identify the people detected by their Ring camera, which will be stored in a catalog with up to 50 entries. The app will then use this data to automatically detect when the person is present and provide the administrator with a personalized notification to let them know exactly who is at the door. Amazon Ring Familiar Faces is disabled by default and needs to be activated within the Ring app settings to get started. The feature will also utilize the data collected within the app's timeline and Event History sections. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.5/10 - Popularity: 51% | Activity: 57% | Freshness: 56% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/tech) > [AI](https://www.trendhunter.com/ai) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **AI-powered Facial Recognition Home Security:** Integrating AI-powered facial recognition into home security systems enhances personalized user experiences, marking a shift towards smarter home safety solutions. - **Personalized Notification Systems:** The growth of personalized notification systems in smart home devices offers users tailored information, transforming how people interact with technology at their doorstep. - **Privacy-first Smart Home Features:** As smart devices become more advanced, the demand for privacy-first features that allow users greater control over their data is becoming increasingly critical. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Smart Home Security:** The smart home security industry is evolving to incorporate advanced recognition technologies, offering significant opportunities for more customized safety measures. - **Artificial Intelligence Software:** Recent innovations in artificial intelligence software are enabling new possibilities for personalized technology applications in home environments. - **Consumer Electronics:** With the rise of intelligent and personalized devices, the consumer electronics industry is poised for innovations that prioritize user-specific interactions and data privacy. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Facial Recognition Retail Partnerships](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sainsburys-and-facewatch.md) - [Visual AI Home Platforms](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/seemour.md) - [Fall-Detecting Devices](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kami-fall-detect-camera.md) - [Facial Recognition Smart Locks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/switchbot-lock-ultra-vision.md) - [AI-Powered Shopping Experts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/aipowered-shopping-experts.md) - [Smart Doorbell Cameras](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/aqara-g410.md) - [AI-Powered Video Camera Alerts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wyze-descriptive-alerts.md) - [Alert-Reducing Smart Camera Features](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wyze-no-big-deal.md) - [High-Tech Residential Security Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/residential-security-system.md)
