# Pinwheel Magazine Pedestals The Amarant Reading Table Fans Out an Assortment of Literature By Amelia Roblin | Published 2011-07-12 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/amarant-reading-table References: [industrialdesignserved](http://www.industrialdesignserved.com/gallery/Amarant-reading-table/856087) One of the jobs that a side table should be expected to perform is the accommodation of reading materials. The Amarant Reading Table by Designlabel Spell tackles this task head-on, promising to do just that, without occupying valuable space upon its wooden surface. In fact, when this eccentric piece of furniture is used properly, the magazines, books, journals and periodicals that fan out to surround the circular ledge create an altered composition of the coffee table that actually renders it larger. You couldn't necessarily set a cup of tea down onto the edge, but the mantle that radiates from the cantilevered paper tier would provide enough support for the Amarant Reading Table to hold your remote control, your spectacles, your knitting and a great number of other items. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.5/10 - Popularity: 32% | Activity: 6% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Multipurpose Furniture:** Designing furniture that serves multiple functions and maximizes space usage. - **Innovative Storage Solutions:** Creating unique and efficient ways to store and organize items. - **Enhanced User Experience:** Improving the usability and convenience of furniture for users. ### Who This Affects Most - **Furniture Manufacturing:** Opportunity for manufacturers to develop versatile furniture pieces that cater to various needs. - **Interior Design:** Interior designers can incorporate multipurpose furniture to optimize space in small living areas. - **Home Organization:** Companies specializing in storage solutions can provide innovative products for decluttering and organizing spaces. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Modernized Old-Fashioned Side Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/union-side-table.md) - [Bookshelf-Incorporated Coffee Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/overlap-table.md) - [Bookcase-Equipped Side Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/low-wall-side-table.md) - [Minimalist Book Storage Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pocket-coffee-table.md) - [Book-Storing Side Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bookgroove-bookrack.md) - [Perplexingly Angular Side Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tadashi-side-table.md) - [Tubular Literature Storage Racks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/interspace-magazine-rack.md) - [Book-Holding Side Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cowboy-sidetable.md) - [Versatile Curvaceous Side Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/proust.md)
