# Metal Fungal Fixtures The Amanita Lamp is a Product of Organic Form and Industrial Material By Amelia Roblin | Published 2013-11-01 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/amanita-lamp References: [core77](http://www.core77.com/blog/lighting/things_that_look_like_other_things_the_amanita_lamp_by_damm_design_25823.asp) & [damm-design](http://www.damm-design.com/shop/amanita) One of the most aesthetically pleasing ways to create an object that emulates a natural form is to make it out of a material that's quite unexpected. The Amanita Lamp might have been manufactured from components that are soft to the touch and perhaps with a similar color or finish to a mushroom, but the beauty of these lovely illuminators is that they become unique objects in their own right. Damm Design's luxurious little table lamps come in 8-inch and 13-inch models with hand-turned solid ash wood stands and metal tops. Brass and copper plates were hand-spun and hammered into rounded conical forms with a subtly dimpled surfaces that shine with gold and rosy glows. The Amanita Lamp is highly reflective with 4-Watt LED cylinder bulbs installed inside of it. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.4/10 - Popularity: 40% | Activity: 85% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Organic Material Design:** Exploiting unexpected materials in design, such as metal, to create products that emulate natural forms. - **Luxury Lighting:** Creating high-end lighting fixtures with unique design features and luxurious materials. - **Handcrafted Artistry:** Focusing on handmade craftsmanship to produce unique and visually appealing products. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Interior Design:** Opportunity for interior design companies to incorporate organic material design in their projects and offer unique lighting fixtures. - **Home Decor:** Opportunity for home decor companies to offer luxury lighting options that combine aesthetics and functionality. - **Artisanal Manufacturing:** Opportunity for artisanal manufacturers to showcase their craftsmanship in creating handcrafted lighting fixtures. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Mushroom-Inspired Table Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/humble-lights.md) - [Imaginative Mushroom Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/white-rabbit-england.md) - [Plant-Based Table Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/plantbased-lamp.md) - [Mycelium Velvety Lampshades](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/b-wise.md) - [Sculptural Wooden Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/arc-lamp.md) - [Organic Light Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lapso.md) - [Luminescent Mushroom Plant Decor](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lunalite-solar-mushroom-planter-stake.md) - [Mushroom-Inspired Sleek Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lunar-lamp-concept.md) - [Elegant Metal Perforated Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/foreshadow-table-lamp.md)
