# Scarlet Anatomy Artistry Amanda Mackenzie-Noice Renders Her Subjects in Vibrant Red Ink By Jason Soy | Published 2012-04-30 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/amanda-mackenzie-noice References: [winterteeth.tumblr](http://winterteeth.tumblr.com/post/22109176838) & [flickr](http://www.flickr.com/photos/amandamacnoice/) There’s no mistaking an Amanda Mackenzie-Noice illustration from the works of her peers. The talented illustrator is known for rendering her images with [vibrant red inks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/colorscape-installation), giving her visuals an eerie blood-like aesthetic. Much more impressive than her use of scarlet hues, however, is her amazing technical skills in [drawing human anatomy](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/out-of-orifice). No detail is overlooked as Mackenzie-Noice painstakingly recreates veins in people’s eyes or the wrinkles on an elderly person’s skin. If it weren’t for her affinity for red, her images would practically resemble black and white photographs, only of a much more stylized version of reality. Amanda Mackenzie-Noice is currently based in Portland, Oregan and continues to churn out mesmerizing visuals on a regular basis. Her Flickr portfolio is filled with a large volume of [eclectic illustrations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/printed-decors), which is quite extraordinary considering the young artist only recently graduated high school. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.7/10 - Popularity: 75% | Activity: 27% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 30% men, 70% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Vibrant Ink Illustrations:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop new printing techniques or inks that can create vibrant and unique colors for illustrations. - **Hyper-realistic Art:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Create new digital tools or software that can assist artists in rendering hyper-realistic details in their artwork. - **Stylized Reality:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Explore new artistic styles and techniques that can transform photographs into stylized versions of reality. ### Who This Affects Most - **Art and Design:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Integrate technology and traditional art mediums to push the boundaries of art and design. - **Printing and Publishing:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop new printing techniques or technologies that can produce vibrant and unique illustrations. - **Digital Art Tools:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Create new digital tools or software that can assist artists in achieving hyper-realistic details in their artwork. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Red-Accented Artist Exhibitions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/art-of-richard-macdonald.md) - [Beetle-Inspired Painted Lugagges](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/amanda-wachob.md) - [Biology-Inspired Porcelain Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/shiyuan-xu.md) - [Striking Urban Wildlife Art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/clare-allin.md) - [Raunchy Anime-Inspired Exhibitions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/manuela-soto-sosa.md) - [Artistic Jaw-Dropping Lessons](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/masters-of-anatomy.md) - [Medicine-Inspired Artful Shows](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/something-for-the-pain.md) - [Digital Archetype Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/christian-rex-van-minnen-1.md) - [Hand-Painted Watercolor Prints](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/emma-webster.md)
