# Twisted Metal Seats Pablo Reinoso's Aluminum Bench is Contemporarily Curious By Meghan Young | Published 2011-10-25 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/aluminum-bench References: [trendsnow.net](http://www.trendsnow.net/inspiration/aluminium-bench) & [cwgdesign](http://cwgdesign.com/) At first glance, the Aluminum Bench looks to be a typical park bench aside from the fact that it is made entirely out of metal -- aluminum and steel to be specific -- rather than wood. Upon closer inspection, however, it is clear that something funky is happening at its center. Twisting and rippling, the look is quite surreal, as though some kind of supernatural event is occurring right before our eyes. Designed by Pablo Reinoso, the Aluminum Bench is stunning. Completely contemporary, it is definitely more art than a practical piece of furniture. Considering that there are only eight in existence, the limited edition Aluminum Bench will most certainly be a coveted piece of both art and furniture. Although more suitable for a gallery than a home, the Aluminum Bench would fit into a contemporary space beautifully. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.0/10 - Popularity: 31% | Activity: 22% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Sculptural Furniture:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Explore the creation of unique and artistic furniture designs that blur the line between art and functional furniture. - **Limited Edition Design:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Create limited edition pieces of furniture to appeal to collectors and create a sense of exclusivity. - **Contemporary Home Decor:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop contemporary furniture designs that blend seamlessly with modern interior design aesthetics. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Furniture Design:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Incorporate unconventional materials and designs into traditional furniture manufacturing processes. - **Art and Design:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Collaborate with artists to create functional art pieces that can be used as furniture in both public and private spaces. - **Interior Design:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Offer unique and visually striking furniture options to interior designers and homeowners seeking to create contemporary living spaces. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Dual Sculpture Seating Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/immaterial-0001.md) - [Dual-Seated Plate Aluminum Benches](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/move-a-little-bit-further.md) - [Modular Aluminum Benches](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/gb-modular-bench.md) - [Contemporary Outdoor Furniture Lines](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/contemporary-outdoor-furniture.md) - [Paper-Like Sleek Furniture Capsules](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/alu-collection.md) - [Minimalist Aluminum Furniture Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/aluminum-furniture.md) - [Elegantly Airy Outdoor Benches](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/arch-bench.md) - [Threshold Bench Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/torii.md) - [Sculptural Gravity Benches](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/floating-bench.md)
