The home is outfitted with a large window on the front that spans the entirety of the building to take advantage of natural light during the day to illuminate the space and even allow for greenery to grow in the integrated greenhouse section. The home is heated through the concrete floors at night, while also integrating an expansive rail dining table and a barbecue for comfortable living. The conceptual 'Alto' house is the design work of Gavin Rea and identifies a way to make tiny homes more appealing and realistic for more consumers. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.8/10 - Popularity: 88% | Activity: 79% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Home](https://www.trendhunter.com/home) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Compact Living:** The 'Alto' house offers a new take on compact living, addressing the issue of cramped quarters in tiny homes. - **Natural Light Integration:** The large window in the 'Alto' house not only illuminates the space but also facilitates the growth of greenery in the integrated greenhouse section. - **Multi-functional Design:** The 'Alto' house features an expansive rail dining table and a barbecue, showcasing the potential for incorporating multiple functions in a compact space. ### Who This Affects Most - **Tiny Home Construction:** The 'Alto' house exemplifies the potential for innovation in the tiny home construction industry by offering a fresh perspective on design and functionality. - **Sustainable Architecture:** The integration of a greenhouse and the emphasis on natural lighting in the 'Alto' house can inspire advancements in sustainable architecture practices. - **Furniture and Interior Design:** The multi-functional design elements in the 'Alto' house highlight opportunities for the furniture and interior design industry to create innovative solutions for compact living spaces. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Window-Walled Tiny Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-arthur-mini.md) - [Generously Glazed Compact Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/atlanta-tiny-home.md) - [Shutter-Accented Tiny Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/houzeko-tiny-house.md) - [Glass Wall Tiny Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/huslein-tiny-house-co.md) - [Expanded Tiny Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ochoco.md) - [Reinvented Compact Living](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/affordable-housing-prototype.md) - [Modular Tiny Home Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vettel-haus.md) - [Light Filled Tiny Houses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/into-the-woods-1.md) - [Built-In Furniture Tiny Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nestron-legend-two.md)
