# Toy-Topped Light Switches The Alter Switch Lets You Attach Any Old Object to Your Lamp's On Button By Amelia Roblin | Published 2013-02-12 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/alter-switch References: [debbinits](http://www.debbinits.com/) Feeling around in the dark for a [light switch](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tewke-tap) is sometimes a difficult task, but it would not be so with a customized Alter Switch. The quirky [electrical fixture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/smart-switch1) invites you to fix a little trinket to its tip, giving the lever a more pronounced profile and a more interesting overall appearance. The round end of the switch opens up to reveal an indentation and a pair of slots on either side. With this mount, you can easily apply knickknacks like tiny toys, clothespins, credit cards and more, binding them with string or twist-ties if necessary. Designer Debbi Nitsan has provided a collage of different suggestions for making your Alter Switch wonderfully playful.
