Though shortbread is usually associated with the holidays, this comforting cookie also makes a perfect autumnal snack. Trader Joe's new Apple Shortbread Cookies are made for the grocery store brand by a supplier in the U.K. who only produces small batches at a time. The supplier uses a recipe that includes both [dried apples and apple juice concentrate](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/calvados-spirited-fruit-spread), along with lots of butter. In fact, Trader Joe's notes that "each cookie’s composition is nearly one quarter butter, by weight." The result is a deliciously rich and buttery cookie with a lush fruity flavor profile that comes courtesy of the apples.
