Even though other restaurants have been experimenting with black burger buns, this all black burger takes things to a darker and more extreme level. Created by [Studio Ghibli](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/spirited-away-puddings), the soot sprite burger has been dubbed the Makkuro Burger (or "pitch black" burger) and hails from Japan, like many of its less macabre contemporaries. The [Tokyo City View](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/konbini-confidential) restaurant is featuring a Studio Ghibli exhibit where interested (and hungry) parties can enjoy the all black burger along with other fare.

In addition to black burger buns, this invention has a charred patty and is topped with more black add-ons. The soot sprite is a fictional black gremlin that inspired this dish, giving it a devious and impish quality.
