The [desk and cabinet](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cabinet) are made to such rectilinear forms, but incorporate lighthearted details and [hidden storage spaces](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ratio-series) that make them unique. Bright red bristles line the edges of all opening pieces and separations, hiding gaps between the wood and creating smooth surfaces from which cords and wires can emerge. Soft and playful felts on the ALKI Landa and Meta side table and chairs give comfort to formal clarity, and provide a whimsical alternative to a pin-board. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.5/10 - Popularity: 12% | Activity: 55% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Whimsical Furniture:** Designing furniture with playful and unexpected details for a unique and creative style. - **Minimalistic Furnishings:** Creating furniture with a focus on simplicity and functionality for a clean and uncluttered aesthetic. - **Hidden Storage Spaces:** Incorporating cleverly designed spaces within furniture pieces for storage and organization purposes. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Furniture Design:** Innovating and creating unique furniture pieces with a focus on playful and functional details. - **Interior Design:** Incorporating minimalist and whimsical furniture pieces to achieve a sleek and creative aesthetic in living spaces. - **Home Organization:** Developing innovative storage solutions within furniture pieces for maximum organization and efficiency in home settings. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Fluffy Organically-Shaped Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fallwinter-21-minimo.md) - [Playful Toy-Like Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/frunchroom-furniture-collection.md) - [Paper-Like Sleek Furniture Capsules](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/alu-collection.md) - [Playful Geometric Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/collection-co.md) - [Sustainable Felt Stack Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/stacklab.md) - [Textured Modern Furniture Lines](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/touch-collections.md) - [Sculptural Living Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cromatica.md) - [Sustainable Felt Furniture Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sustainable-felt-furniture.md) - [Ultra-Comfy Seating Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cushy-lounge-chair.md)
